1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of:
- ChurchConnect, the church management platform of Karen Community Seventh-day Adventist Church (“ Community SDA Church,” “we,” “us,” or “our”); and
- Camp Meeting, our annual camp meeting programme, including registration, scheduling, and participation in sessions such as Camp Meeting 2026 “Believe and Live.”
By creating an account on ChurchConnect, registering for Camp Meeting, or otherwise using either platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platforms.
If you are registering a minor for Camp Meeting or a ChurchConnect-linked family account, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian and are authorized to accept these Terms on their behalf.
2. Eligibility
- ChurchConnect accounts are intended for members, regular attendees, and authorized personnel of Karen Community SDA Church and affiliated congregations.
- Camp Meeting registration is open to all attendees, including minors registered by a parent or guardian.
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account or registering for an event.
3. Account Responsibilities
If you create an account on ChurchConnect:
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must notify us immediately at Insert contact email if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, provide false information, or are used for unauthorized purposes.
4. Use of ChurchConnect
When using ChurchConnect, you agree to:
- Use the platform only for legitimate church-related, ministry, or pastoral purposes
- Not misuse member contact information, prayer requests, or communication features for purposes unrelated to church ministry
- Not attempt to access data, records, or administrative functions beyond your authorized role
- Not upload or share content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or inconsistent with the values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
- Not attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the platform’s systems or security
Administrative and leadership users granted elevated access (e.g., department leaders, elders, pastoral staff) agree to handle member data responsibly and only for the purposes for which access was granted.
5. Camp Meeting Registration and Participation
5.1 Registration
- Registration is subject to availability and may require submission of personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
- Registration for a specific track does not guarantee a seat if capacity limits apply; sessions are generally offered on a first-come, first-served or as-announced basis.
- Where camp fees apply, payment confirmation (e.g., via M-Pesa) is required to complete registration. Fee amounts, deadlines, and refund conditions will be communicated separately.
5.2 Minors
- Parents/guardians registering minors are responsible for providing accurate age, health, and emergency contact information.
- Karen Community SDA Church will take reasonable care to supervise and safeguard minors during scheduled camp activities, but parents/guardians remain primarily responsible for their children outside of designated programme times, unless otherwise communicated.
5.3 Health and Safety
- Attendees are responsible for disclosing relevant health conditions, allergies, or accessibility needs at registration to enable appropriate accommodation.
- Karen Community SDA Church is not liable for health incidents arising from undisclosed medical conditions.
- Attendees participate in camp activities at their own risk and are expected to follow all safety instructions.
5.4 Conduct
While at Camp Meeting, attendees agree to:
- Conduct themselves in a manner consistent with Christian values and the spirit of the event
- Follow instructions from camp organizers, security, and volunteer staff
- Respect shared facilities, accommodation, and fellow attendees
We reserve the right to remove any attendee whose conduct is disruptive, unsafe, or inconsistent with these Terms, without refund where applicable.
5.5 Photography and Recording
By attending Camp Meeting, you acknowledge that sessions may be photographed, filmed, or live-streamed for ministry and promotional purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy. Attendees who do not wish to be featured should notify registration staff in advance.
6. Fees and Payments
- Any applicable Camp Meeting fees will be clearly communicated during registration, along with accepted payment methods (e.g., M-Pesa).
- We do not store full payment card or mobile money PIN details; payments are processed through the relevant payment provider’s secure systems.
- Refund policies, if any, will be published separately at the time of registration and are at the discretion of the Karen Community SDA Church organizing committee.
7. Intellectual Property
- All content on ChurchConnect and Camp Meeting materials (schedules, branding, logos, published resources) is the property of Karen Community SDA Church or its licensors, unless otherwise stated.
- You may not reproduce, distribute, or use church content for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
- Content you submit (e.g., prayer requests, testimonies, forum posts) remains your intellectual property, but by submitting it you grant Karen Community SDA Church a non-exclusive license to use it for church administration, ministry, and promotional purposes consistent with our Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimers
ChurchConnect and Camp Meeting services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of technical issues. Karen Community SDA Church makes reasonable efforts to keep information accurate but is not liable for minor changes, cancellations, or errors in published materials.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Karen Community SDA Church, its leadership, staff, and volunteers shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of ChurchConnect or participation in Camp Meeting
- Loss or damage to personal property during Camp Meeting
- Personal injury arising from participation in camp activities, except where caused by our gross negligence
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under Kenyan law.
10. Data Protection
Your use of ChurchConnect and Camp Meeting is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. By accepting these Terms, you also acknowledge our Privacy Policy.
11. Suspension and Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to ChurchConnect, or decline/cancel Camp Meeting registration, if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Provide false or misleading information
- Engage in conduct that is harmful, unsafe, or inconsistent with the values of the Church
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date above will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
